How to make Mix dal cheela?

Everyone’s go to breakfast is cheela. They are usually love by everyone, be it kids, adults or elderly. There are variety of cheela like besan cheela, sooji cheela, etc. One of the cheela is mix dal cheela which is made of different dals. These dals are blended together to make a fine consistency batter.

Moreover, It makes a perfect dish for breakfast which is full of protein and vitamin B1. This cheela has the goodness of moong, arhar, chana and urad dal. Also, the taste is absolutely delicious and filling as well that if you want you can also enjoy it in your lunch or dinner.

Furthermore, these cheela are less in fat, gluten free, and proteinaceous. So, let’s have a look at the recipe!

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Total time: 25 minutes

Serving: 2-3

Ingredients for mix dal cheela:

  • Green moong dal (soaked overnight)-1/2 cup
  • Urad dal (soaked overnight)-1/2 cup
  • Arhar dal (soaked overnight)-1/2 cup
  • Chana dal (soaked overnight)-1/2 cup
  • Onion, finely chopped-1
  • Tomato, finely chopped-1
  • Green chilli-2
  • Coriander leaves-1 tbsp
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper-1 tsp
  • Oil-2 tbsp

Method of preparation:

  • Firstly, grind the soaked dals and form a dosa-like batter, with thick pouring consistency (add some water if needed).
  • Secondly, add all the ingredients like tomato, onion, coriander leaves, green chillies, salt and pepper in the batter and mix well.
  • Furthermore, heat a tawa and put some oil on it. Now, spread a ladleful of batter on the tawa and cook on medium flame and pour some oil on the edges and cook both the sides till a nice brown color
  • Finally, serve hot with chutney of your choice and enjoy it with your loved ones!
