1)3 cups roughly torn bread pcs

2)2 tablespoons of oil

3)2 tablespoons of mustard seeds

4) 7 curry leaves

5)1 tablespoon of chopped ginger

6)1 tablespoon of chopped garlic

7) 1 tablespoon of chopped chilies

8) 1/2finely chopped onions

9) 1 cup chopped tomatoes

10) 2 tablespoons of Turmeric Powder

11) ½ tablespoon of tomato ketchup

12) 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

13) salt to taste

14) 2 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander

Method

1 . Take a non-stick pan heat the oil and put mustard seeds.

2. When the seeds crackle add curry leaves and chopped onion and saute on a medium flame for 1 to2 minutes.

3. Add the chopped tomatoes, turmeric/ powder, chili powder 2 tablespoons of water, and cook it on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.

4. Now add tomato ketchup, lemon juice, and salt and mix it well.

5. Add salt according to your taste. Now add torn bread in the pan mixes it well and now cover the pan for 1 minute.

6. Switch of the flame, Add the coriander, and mixed it well.

7. Served the bread upma hot if you want you can add oregano seasoning for the good taste.

How to use leftover rice?

How many times have we thought rice is leftover.We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away!  We can make pancake with it.

Ingredients for Cooked Rice Pancakes Recipe

1) Cooked Rice 2 cups

2) Whole Wheat Flour 1/4 cup

3) Gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup

4) Carrot grated 1 medium

5) Spring onions finely chopped 2

6) Cabbage finely shredded 1/4 small

7) Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

8) Green chilies finely chopped 4

9) Garlic chopped 1/2 teaspoon

10) Ginger chopped 1/2 teaspoon

11) Yogurt 2 tablespoons

12) Salt to taste

13) coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

14) Oil for shallow frying

Method

  1. Mix together the cooked rice with the chopped  carrot, onions and cabbage in a bowl. Now Add the whole wheat flour, gram flour, turmeric powder, green chillies, garlic, ginger, yogurt, salt and coriander leaves and mix well.
  2. Add ¼ cup of water and knead into a soft dough. Cover it aside for 20 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into eight equal portions and roll into balls.
  4. Grease a plastic sheet with oil and place a dough ball on it and press evenly to make a round pancake. Similarly make the remaining pancakes.
  5. 6. Serve hot with ketchup or pudian chutney of your choice.

Ingredient

  1. 1  cups Cooked short-grain white rice
  2. 1 ½ cups water
  3. ⅓ cup red wine vinegar
  4. 2 teaspoons white sugar
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. ½ avocado – peeled, pitted, and thinly sliced
  7. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  8. ¼ cup sesame seeds
  9. Half cucumber – peeled, seeded, and cut into matchsticks
  10. 1½ green bell pepper, seeded and cut into matchsticks
  11. ½ zucchini, cut into matchsticks

Method

 1) Take leftover rice in a bowl and mix red wine vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl until sugar has dissolved. Fluff rice with a fork and transfer into a large bowl, pour the vinegar mixture into the rice and stir to coat the rice.

2) Now Spread rice out onto a large piece of parchment paper and fan the rice until cool. Cover rice with damp paper towels.

3) Sprinkle avocado slices with lemon juice in a bowl.

4) Spread a thin layer of sesame seeds onto a sushi mat. Pick up about half a cup of cool rice and place it onto the sushi mat in an even layer. Place 1/4 of the cucumber, avocado slices, bell pepper, and zucchini in a line down the middle of the rice.

5) Pick up the edge of the sushi mat, fold the bottom edge of the sheet up, enclose the filling, and tightly roll the sushi into a thick cylinder. Once the sushi is rolled, wrap it in the mat and gently squeeze it to compact it tightly.

6) Now you can enjoy a yummy sushi roll.

  • Tomato/Tamatar – 1 no finely chopped

  4. Heat the roti  in toster or tava  and place   it out in a tray. Fill the filling on one side of both the rotis and put the grated cheese. Fold it and place on the pan.
  5. Apply oil on the roti and cook on low flame from one side. Press it lightly. Flip and cook from the other side. Cook well from both the sides.
  6. The Desi Tacos | Roti Tacos is ready to be served.

  1. 1 cup Leftover dal
  2. 1-1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  3. 1-1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder

  5. 4 tablespoon Coriander (Dhania) Leaves , finely chopped
  6. 3 tablespoon Onions , finely chopped
  7. Ghee -2 Tablespoon

Method

  1. To begin making the Leftover Dal Paratha, firstly add the leftover dal wheat flour, kashmiri red chili powder, salt, coriander leaves and onions in a bowl. Mix everything well and knead it into a smooth dough.
  2. Cover and let the dough sit for about 15 minutes.
  3. After 15 minutes, heat a roti tawa. Roll it round and make it into a ball shape. Rub 1/4 teaspoon ghee over the surface.
  4. Once it is done, fold 2 opposite edges such that they touch each other at the edges.
  5. Place it on hot tawa and cook on both sides until they get golden brown. Rub about 1/4 teaspoon ghee on both the sides of paratha.
  6. Serve it with curd or pickle .

  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves 12-15
  • Breadcrumbs 1/2 cup
  • Juice of ¼ lemon

  1. First Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and see it crackle in few second.
  • Then add onion see onion become soft and  golden brown in few second and  then  add  grated carrot and mix and sauté for 1 minute. Add green chilli, mix and sauté for ½ minute.
  • Now used Add leftover dal and mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Then add Dry roast rava for 1 minute in another non-stick pan.
  • Adjust salt in dal, add roasted semolina and mix well. Cook till the mixture thickens and the moisture is absorbed.
  • Roughly chop coriander leaves.
  • Transfer cooked dal mixture into a bowl. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Refrigerate the mixture for 15-20 minutes.
  • Take the bowl out of the refrigerator, add breadcrumbs and lemon juice mix well.
  • Heat some oil in another non-stick pan.
  • 10 Then grease your palms with some oil, divide the dal mixture into equal portions and shape them into medium sized tikkis.
  • 11 take a pan put one table spoon of oil and place tikkis in the second pan and fry in hot oil, turning sides, till golden and crisp from both sides. Step 12

  1. Heat a pan with oil, saute onions, when it turns brown add ginger garlic paste. Fry for a couple of minutes.
  2. Then add tomatoes, all the spice powders. Simmer for a while. Finally, add kala namak Simmer for a couple of minutes.
  3. Mash the left over vegetables and add grated cheese, bread crumbs to the vegetables. Mix well. Divide into balls and pat down as cutlets.
  4. Heat a tawa and grease with oil. Place the cutlet on the hot tawa and cook on both sides till it become golden brown .
  5. Now you can serve with minute chutney or jiggery chutney

  • Few curry leaves

Method

  1. For  making tarka  first   the pan put Heat the  oil in a small pan.
  2. Add Urad dal and Mustard seeds and cook till urad dal turns golden in color.
  3. Add curry leaves and stir. Remove from heat.
  4. Now  take  Appe pan .Heat the  Appe pan and put a little oil in the cavities. Grease every Cavities.
  5. In  dosa batter,add prepared tarka, onions, green chilies, ,salt and water as needed. Also Add Eno and mix well and pour batter into appe pan.
  6. Cook  this on the medium flame from both sides turn brown.
  7. Serve with tea.
