How to make Shakkarkandi Chaat

Shakkarkandi Chaat is a great alternative to the popular aloo chaat.It is a very easy recipe. Easy sweet Shakkarkandi Chaat for a filling, satisfying snack, be it mid-noon snack or evening snack. It’s gluten-free and can be easily made vegan.

It’s a savory and flavorful chaat, which also happens to be a very popular Delhi street food. It is made from boiled sweet potato and flavored with a few spices. In Hindi it is called shakarkandi chaat recipe.

This chaat has a nice crunch, you can serve this chaat, which is to drizzle with yogurt, little cilantro chutney, and top it with tamarind chutney if you like hot and spicy sprinkle with finely chopped green chilies and ginger.

Shakarkandi chaat is a tangy, sweet, and spicy recipe. It is super nutritious. Sweet potatoes are one of the most nutritious root vegetables. It is considered as Super Food today.

The addition of fruits makes it very healthy and light. It is an oil-free recipe that can be assembled in minutes.

Ingrediants :

Boiled 1 and 1/2 sweet potato

black salt, as required

3/4 teaspoon chaat masala

3/4 tablespoon pomegranate seeds

1/2 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 handful coriander leaves

3/4 tablespoon sev

Method for Shakkarkandi Chaat :

Take coriander leaves and pomegranate seeds & wash under running water. Then, peel the skin of the sweet potatoes and chop them up into small cubes.

Now, take a large bowl and add sweet potatoes. Add the chaat masala, black salt along with lemon juice, and toss them up to mix thoroughly. Then, transfer it to the serving bowls.

To complete it off, garnish the chaat with sev, coriander leaves, and pomegranate seeds and serve fresh!
